The Role

State and Local Tax (SALT) Interns serve as members of client service teams. Interns are staffed on engagements similar to an Associate and receive formal and on-the-job training to hone and develop their technical skills. Interns assist in the preparation of state and local jurisdictional tax returns. In addition, Interns may be responsible for research on tax law or other related projects.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

For individuals hired to work in McLean, VA or Washington D.C., the expected hourly rate range for this role is $36.00 per hour; the actual hourly rate can vary based upon employee qualifications. The Requirements

Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in the Metro D.C. offices, the expected pay for this role is $36 per hour.

Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance, a discretionary long-term cash incentive program, and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.

 

The Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field and/or an advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation, JD or LLM;
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0;
  • Strong leadership, multitasking and organizational skills;
  • Self-starter with initiative to seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong interpersonal skills; and
  • Ability to interact with and gain the respect of all levels of internal and client personnel.
